Bios

• Lynn Vieyra

  DVM

  Dr. Lynn Vieyra was born in Hawaii and attended UC Davis Veterinary School where she graduated in 1987. Dr. Vieyra moved to the Bay Area that same year and practiced locally for 14 years before coming to VCA Bascom Animal Hospital in 2001. She has always loved animals and currently has three dogs. In her spare time she enjoys photography.

• Donna Brinck

  DVM

  Dr. Brinck attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. She moved to Germany where she worked in research for several years, then went on to study Veterinary Medicine in Munich at Ludwig Maximilians University. She worked with large and small animals in Germany before returning to the U.S. to practice in Florida. In 2012, recovering from the loss of her husband to cancer, Dr. Brinck decided to move home to California with her son Alex and Pluto, her Bavarian Alpine Scent Hound to live in beautiful Santa Cruz. Her passions, besides animals, include travel, hiking, enjoying the Pacific's treasures such as otter watching to name just a few. She is excited to join the team at VCA Bascom and welcomes all the new furry faces to the practice as the new Medical Director.

• Matthew Kafka

  DVM

  Dr. Matthew Kafka is a southern California native. He attended UC Santa Cruz for undergrad and continued on to Ross University to earn his DVM. He relocated back to the Santa Clara area in 2013 with his wife, Melissa and their wonderful baby boy, Reed. To complete their family, the Kafka's have two amazing mixed breed dogs, Barry and Stella and a tuxedo kitty, Charlie Bruce. During his free time Dr. Kafka has been enjoying all the adventures and responsibilities of being a new dad, while still finding time 'on occasion' to enjoy his favorite past times like trekking the outdoors, camping, kayaking, gardening and his constant quest for the next trophy fish to be caught and released! .
